About 10 years ago I saw a photo my daughter had taken of me during a Christmas visit here. It was on the beach on Christmas eve. It was a side shot and exposed, …well, let’s just say I didn’t like what I saw. Of course I wished I would have saved it. ” Basically the keg protruding out over my drooping belly; lt..” It was really bothering me. And I could rationalize and make excuses; Oh yeah, believe you me. My brain is good at that. However, that picture in my head kept gnawing away at me. I need to drop twenty five pounds.”

“I kept making all kinds of stories up in my head why those 25 lbs of fat “weren’t that bad really. “Not for a man of my age and stress levels. I have been a full-time caregiver since 2008. ” I had high blood pressure. I was in OK shape due to years of athletic endeavors.

I got back on the bike and back to the gym… with real intent. I knew what I had to do. And most important for me , I knew “How”. It’s mostly the mental battle that goes on that keeps you from consistency.

I am an active older adult like you. And I am a full-time caregiver at home. But besides that, and probably more important is the understanding of what it is to be older and not as fit as I could be..” I know and understand the mental blocks and issues that keep us from making and sticking to the commitment to get “back in shape”. I have fought through that many times and now I am fit….very fit for my age. The psychological components are just as important as the physical work. It is all about motivations and having a coach that authentically teaches the winning strategies for taking the weight off and keeping it off.

I am committed to listening to what is important to you and helping you improve your fitness, performance, energy levels, and flexibility with achievable goals in both the short and long term. A combination of Optimum Performance Training (OPT) Levels is discussed after initial free assessments. Programs can be conducted over live streaming (using the Zoom app) or at the Bardmoor Y of St. Petersburg.
